Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Evelyn Oboro, has declared her support for the second-term bid of Senator Ede Dafinone, urging political leaders and supporters across Delta Central Senatorial District to work together ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Oboro made the declaration on Saturday, October 3, 2026, when Senator Dafinone, who represents Delta Central in the National Assembly, paid her a visit at her residence as part of his ongoing consultations with political leaders, stakeholders and supporters across the senatorial district.

During the meeting, Oboro pledged her support for Dafinone’s re-election and called on her political supporters across the eight local government areas that make up Delta Central — Ethiope East, Ethiope West, Okpe, Sapele, Udu, Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Uvwie — to mobilise in support of the senator and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

She said the political interests of the senatorial district, in her view, would be better served by having its representative aligned with the party controlling the Federal Government, particularly in the pursuit of federal infrastructure, development initiatives and other opportunities for the people.

Oboro urged political actors in the district to place the broader interests of Delta Central and the Urhobo people at the centre of their political engagements ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, Dafinone explained that his visit was part of his consultation with leaders and stakeholders as he seeks their support and endorsement for another term in the Senate.

The senator also stressed the importance of unity among APC leaders and supporters across the district, saying sustained collaboration would be necessary as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting further highlighted the growing consultations among political stakeholders in Delta Central as parties and aspirants begin preparations for the next general elections.

Oboro, who previously represented Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, remains an active figure in Delta Central political circles. Her latest declaration adds to the series of engagements surrounding Dafinone’s second-term campaign as he continues consultations across the senatorial district.
