“Seeking Justice, Not Conflict” Dr. Louis Otuisi Receives Bomadi/Patani Power Balance Advocates as 28-Year Representation Questioned Ahead of 2027

The Bomadi/Patani Power Balance Advocates have paid a courtesy visit to renowned educationist, Dr. Louis Otuisi, at one of his private residences in Warri, Delta State, as part of consultations on the political future of the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The visit, which attracted sons and daughters of Bomadi and Patani Local Government Areas, was aimed at advancing the group’s advocacy for political balance and fairness in the representation of the constituency at the House of Representatives.
The group is specifically calling for a power shift that would allow Patani Local Government Area to produce the next member of the Federal House of Representatives, after several decades of representation from Bomadi.
Speaking during the visit, Convener of the Bomadi/Patani Power Balance Advocates, Comrade Chris Anthony, said the engagement with Dr. Otuisi was deliberate, noting his long standing reputation as a voice against injustice and inequality in society.
According to him, the visit was to seek Dr. Otuisi’s moral and political support over what he described as sustained marginalisation of Patani Local Government Area in the politics of the federal constituency.
Comrade Anthony observed that for the past twenty eight years, the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency has been represented in the House of Representatives by Hon. Nicholas Mutu, who hails from Akugbene community in Bomadi Local Government Area.
He noted that while the group acknowledges Hon. Mutu’s years of service, equity and fairness demand that Patani should be given the opportunity to produce a representative to ensure balance and inclusiveness.
“The call we are making is not rooted in hostility or division but in fairness, justice and equity. Democracy thrives when every segment of society feels a sense of belonging,” Comrade Anthony said.
He added that the group is advocating equality among all communities that make up the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency.
The convener further appealed to Dr. Otuisi to consider contesting for the House of Representatives seat in 2027, describing him as a credible, capable and widely respected son of Patani who possesses the intellectual capacity and moral standing required for effective legislative representation.
He assured that the group would engage all relevant stakeholders, including Hon. Nicholas Mutu and political leaders across the constituency, to canvass support for a Patani indigene in the spirit of unity.
Responding, Dr. Louis Otuisi, who hails from Odophori community in Patani Local Government Area, commended the Bomadi/Patani Power Balance Advocates for what he described as a courageous and progressive advocacy.
He said the issue of representation in the constituency has remained unresolved for far too long and agreed that the people are yet to experience the level of legislative impact they deserve.
Dr. Otuisi stated that he has consistently stood for the common good of his people and reaffirmed his commitment to justice, fairness and inclusive governance. He stressed that genuine representation must reflect the diversity of the constituency and respond to the aspirations of all communities.
He also called on sons and daughters of Bomadi and Patani to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, urging them to embrace democratic processes and pursue justice peacefully ahead of the 2027 elections.
The visit ended with prayers and words of counsel, as participants expressed hope that wisdom, equity and unity would prevail in shaping the political future of the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency.
