Abeke, Jamani, Ayemidejor Lead Successful APC Wards Congresses Across Sapele

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a major political success in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State following the peaceful and well coordinated conduct of its ward congresses across the 11 Federal Wards in the council area.

The congresses, which were held simultaneously across the wards, were widely described as transparent, credible, and orderly, culminating in the emergence of new ward executive committees through a consensus arrangement.

The exercise was supervised by top party leaders, including the Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Hon. Bright Abeke; the Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ejiro Jamani; the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Aviation and Transport, Hon. Austin Ayemidejor; Hon. Benson Okorodudu; and other notable APC stakeholders in the area.

Also present to ensure strict compliance with party guidelines and electoral standards was Mr. Ovoke Omagbemi, the representative of the Delta State APC Chairman. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were on ground to monitor the process, while operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and local vigilante groups provided security, ensuring a peaceful and hitch free exercise across all the wards.

Speaking on the success of the congresses, Hon. Bright Abeke commended party members for their discipline, unity, and commitment to the ideals of the APC, describing the process as a major step towards strengthening the party’s grassroots base.

“This successful congress is a clear reflection of the unity and maturity of our party in Sapele. The peaceful conduct and consensus approach adopted across the wards demonstrate our collective resolve to build a stronger, more cohesive APC. I commend all stakeholders, party leaders, and members for their cooperation and support. This is a new chapter for our party in Sapele,” Abeke said.

He further urged the newly elected ward executives to work tirelessly to consolidate party structures, mobilize members at the grassroots, and promote unity, adding that their leadership would play a critical role in positioning the APC for future electoral victories.

Addressing newsmen, the Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ejiro Jamani, described the congresses as peaceful and credible, praising party faithful for their orderly conduct and understanding.

“The success of today’s exercise shows that APC in Sapele is united and focused. I congratulate all the newly elected ward executives and encourage them to see their emergence as a call to service. They must work hard to strengthen the party at the grassroots and promote inclusiveness,” Jamani stated.

Also speaking, Hon. Austin Ayemidejor, Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Aviation and Transport, placed strong emphasis on the significance of the congress, describing it as “highly successful and historic.”

“This congress is a major achievement for the APC in Sapele. The peaceful atmosphere, consensus arrangement, and active participation of party members reflect the depth of unity and understanding within the party. I am particularly impressed by the maturity displayed by all aspirants and stakeholders. This unity is our greatest strength, and we must sustain it as we prepare for future political engagements,” Ayemidejor said.

He added that the newly constituted ward executives must prioritize grassroots mobilization, party discipline, and effective communication, noting that their performance would determine the party’s growth and success.

Among the wards that successfully produced new executives through consensus were Wards 2, 9, and 11.

In Ward 2, Hon. Rex Ogbakpa emerged as Chairman, with Omiragwa Noble Leleji as Vice Chairman and Joseph Kamisi as Secretary. Other key officers include Lucky Akpobome (Assistant Secretary), Irene Imooje (Youth Leader), Ogume Donald (Assistant Youth Leader), Selumanu Mercy (Woman Leader), Rita Okwuone (Assistant Woman Leader), Philo Edani (Organizing Secretary), Joy Ikhuoria (Assistant Organizing Secretary), Yemi Adediran (Welfare Officer), Robert Edhere (Assistant Welfare Officer), Regina Mohammed (Treasurer), Oseveta Emakpor (Assistant Treasurer), Victoria Omamuli (Financial Secretary), Ufuoma Agbigbe (Assistant Financial Secretary), Omorogie Clementina (Legal Adviser), Efeotor Emmanuel (Assistant Legal Adviser), Omasan Mene (Publicity Secretary), Oshevire Meko Akpororo (Assistant Publicity Secretary), Obire Henry (Auditor), Dona Omorogbe (Assistant Auditor), Elijah Omasheye (Special Leader, PWI), and ex-officio members Sam Oduaino, Rienkoko Emmanuel, Prosper Oshioke, and Christian Ozuocha.

In Ward 9, Otoku Derick Jemigheye was elected Chairman, with Mereli Lucky as Vice Chairman and Oghenemine Fregene as Secretary. Other officers include Collins Otone (Assistant Secretary), Emmanuel Unuatohwo (Legal Adviser), Moses Ebah (Assistant Legal Adviser), Paul Oghwolo (Treasurer), Friday Jemikalaja (Assistant Treasurer), Elizabeth Ajarah (Financial Secretary), Okemutie Edjeba (Assistant Financial Secretary), Ezra Ogodo (Organizing Secretary), Ojokolo Evidence (Assistant Organizing Secretary), Emmanuel Kebughe (Publicity Secretary), Sunday Biokoro (Assistant Publicity Secretary), Jennifer Okornor Akpebuje (Welfare Secretary), Chuko Elvis Dedekuma (Assistant Welfare Secretary), Josephine Idolor (Women Leader), Joyce Erivwo (Assistant Women Leader), Joseph Eritobo (Youth Leader), Godwin Aghogho (Assistant Youth Leader), Happy Nas (Special Leader, Physically Challenged), Christian Ogio (Auditor), Amos Eyeregba (Assistant Auditor), and ex-officio members Joseph Umukoro, Paul Aboloje, Andrew Ohiambe, and Godwin Bright.

In Ward 11, Stephen Irhurhu emerged as Chairman, with Monday Akpura as Vice Chairman and Godwin Amarhawieye as Secretary. Other members of the executive committee include Isaac Shemiju (Assistant Secretary), Richard Okoro (Youth Leader), Ejaita Edju (Assistant Youth Leader), Ejenavi Anigboro (Woman Leader), Edit Ikoyo (Assistant Woman Leader), Henry Apiyor (Treasurer), Lawrance Teri (Assistant Treasurer), David Ajua (Publicity Secretary), Moses Egbor (Assistant Publicity Secretary), Sunday Akpolo (Legal Adviser), Jolomi Elvis (Assistant Legal Adviser), Adjemiyotan Amos Otche (Financial Secretary), Joseph Ololo (Assistant Financial Secretary), Obas Okiripo (Organizing Secretary), Saturday Urueshone (Assistant Organizing Secretary), Sarah Ejohwomu (Welfare Officer), Dora Ejukoko (Assistant Welfare Officer), Mattew Anigbo (Auditor), Felix Eweto (Assistant Auditor), Joseph Adjuya (Physically Challenged Leader), and ex-officio members Roseline Eleko, Joyce Umujeyan, Ekeke Doris, and George Okologo.

Speaking at ward 11 congress, Hon. Peter Eferurie Adjemiyotan described the ward congresses as peaceful, transparent, and highly commendable, noting that the exercise had further strengthened internal democracy and unity within the APC in Sapele.

“This congress has once again demonstrated the capacity of our party to conduct credible and orderly internal processes. I congratulate the leadership and all party members for their discipline and cooperation, and I urge the newly elected executives to remain committed to the ideals and progress of the APC,” Adjemiyotan said.

Overall, party leaders and members described the congresses as a resounding success, expressing optimism that the newly elected ward executives would usher in a new era of unity, discipline, and political progress for the APC in Sapele Local Government Area.
