Comrades Abebe, Chukwurah Hail Oborevwori’s Visionary Leadership And Development, Commend Flag-Off of ₦21.3bn Ugbolu–Okpanam Road Project

Two prominent youth leaders in Delta State — Comr. Kingsley Abebe, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Sapele Chapter, and Comr. Ikechukwu Chukwurah, Chairman, NYCN Oshimili North Chapter — have lauded Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his courage, resilience, and people-centered leadership, following his defiance of heavy rainfall to flag off the ₦21.3 billion Ugbolu–Okpanam Road project in Oshimili North Local Government Area.
The duo, who spoke through a joint phone conversation with newsmen in Sapele, described the Governor’s action as “a true reflection of dedication, service, and commitment to the development of Delta State.” They noted that Oborevwori’s decision to personally brave the downpour to perform the groundbreaking ceremony demonstrated uncommon zeal and sincerity of purpose toward the infrastructural advancement of the state.
According to Comr. Abebe, the Governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure development has continued to inspire confidence among Deltans. He emphasized that the Ugbolu–Okpanam Road project stands as a testament to Oborevwori’s determination to deliver quality and sustainable roads that will open up communities and stimulate economic growth.
“Governor Oborevwori has shown that leadership is about action and results. His ability to match words with visible projects across the 25 local government areas — without resorting to borrowing — speaks volumes of his prudence, discipline, and passion for progress,” Abebe said.

Also speaking in his remarks, Comr. Chukwurah applauded the Governor for his foresight in initiating the 12-kilometre Ugbolu–Okpanam Road, which he said will ease traffic within the Asaba metropolis, link communities, and foster economic activities across the Oshimili axis.
He added that the project reflects the Governor’s inclusive governance style, which ensures that development reaches both rural and urban communities. “This project is not just a road; it is a lifeline that will boost commerce, agriculture, and connectivity in our state. The people of Oshimili North are deeply appreciative of the Governor’s leadership and vision,” he said.

Both chairmen also commended the Governor for maintaining fiscal responsibility, stressing that the ongoing projects across Delta State — including roads and bridges — are being executed without external loans. They described such financial discipline as rare in governance and worthy of emulation.
They further expressed appreciation for the Governor’s efforts in promoting youth inclusion and empowerment, noting that his leadership approach encourages young people to believe in public service and active participation in governance.
While praying for the continued peace and prosperity of Delta State, Comrades Abebe and Chukwurah reaffirmed the NYCN’s support for the administration’s developmental initiatives and assured that Delta youths remain steadfast partners in advancing the MORE Agenda.
“We wish the project every success and pray for continued peace and prosperity in Delta State. The Governor’s dedication to progress is truly inspiring,” they said.
The groundbreaking of the Ugbolu–Okpanam Road was witnessed by top government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of Levant Construction Company, marking yet another stride in Delta State’s quest for sustainable infrastructural transformation.
