Dafinone Rallies Uvwie APC Leaders Ahead of 2027 Elections

Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has urged leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uvwie Local Government Area to close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dafinone made the call during a consultation meeting with APC leaders, candidates and stakeholders at Festus Keyamo Hall, Effurun, where he stressed the need for party members to strengthen the APC structure and sustain engagement with voters across the local government.

The senator also called for reconciliation among members who may have become aggrieved or disengaged following the party’s primary elections, saying the task ahead required unity and the deliberate efforts of leaders to bring all members back into the fold.

He urged party members to mobilise support for all APC candidates, from President Bola Tinubu to candidates contesting seats in the National Assembly and the Delta State House of Assembly.

Speaking at the meeting, the Uvwie APC Chairman, Comrade Dickson Sylvester Oghenevwede, congratulated Dafinone on his emergence as the party’s senatorial candidate, describing his candidacy as a collective project for the APC and Delta State.

Oghenevwede said the 2027 election should not be regarded as Dafinone’s personal battle, but as a contest that would test the strength, unity and mobilisation capacity of the APC and its leadership.

He assured the gathering that the Uvwie chapter remained committed to delivering votes for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, JP, said APC stakeholders in Uvwie had intensified mobilisation and engagement across various communities.

Ighrakpata said the party was reaching out to residents from different backgrounds, including Arewa, Igbo, Hausa and other non-indigenous communities, as part of efforts to build broad-based support for the APC.

He said the party’s mobilisation strategy was aimed at ensuring that eligible voters across Uvwie were effectively engaged and mobilised ahead of the 2027 polls.

The APC candidate for Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Ramson Onoyake, JP, urged party members and supporters to work for the victory of Dafinone, himself and other APC candidates.

Onoyake called on eligible voters to support the party’s candidates from the presidential election down to the state legislature.

Similarly, the APC candidate for Uvwie State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Edafe Emakpor, urged party leaders and stakeholders to intensify voter mobilisation at the grassroots, stressing that the party’s success would depend largely on the collective efforts of its members and supporters.

In his remarks, the Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief P.D.O. Akpeki, identified unity, cooperation and effective grassroots engagement as key factors that would determine the party’s performance in 2027.

Akpeki urged the party’s candidates and leaders to work closely with APC members across the district, saying the party’s objective was to secure victory for all its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He expressed optimism that Delta State could emerge among the leading states in terms of support for President Tinubu’s re-election.

The consultation meeting, which attracted APC leaders, candidates and stakeholders from Uvwie, formed part of Dafinone’s ongoing efforts to strengthen party unity, consolidate grassroots structures and build a broad mobilisation network across Delta Central ahead of the 2027 general elections.
