Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, on his 60th birthday, describing his public service career as a demonstration of leadership, courage and commitment to the nation.

Dafinone, in a birthday message issued to mark the milestone, said he joined Shettima’s family, colleagues and Nigerians across the country in celebrating the Vice President and honouring his years of distinguished service to Nigeria.

He commended Shettima’s journey from the banking profession into public service, noting his service as Governor of Borno State, Senator representing Borno Central and his current position as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to Dafinone, Shettima’s tenure as governor of Borno State came at a period of significant security and socio-economic challenges, adding that his stewardship demonstrated courage, resilience and willingness to serve the country in difficult circumstances.

“As he marks his 60th birthday, I commend the Vice President for the wisdom, experience and commitment he continues to bring to the service of our country and for his important role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Dafinone said.

The senator expressed confidence that Shettima’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs would continue to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening the Nigerian economy, promoting national unity and advancing sustainable development.

Dafinone stressed that Nigeria requires purposeful and inclusive leadership anchored in the national interest, adding that the Vice President’s experience would remain valuable in addressing the country’s challenges.

He prayed for many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment for Shettima, while asking God to continue to guide and protect him in the discharge of his responsibilities.

He also wished the Vice President strength and sound judgment as he continues to contribute to the peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria.
