Former Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Chief Eugene Okpeh Inoaghan, has emerged chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council in Sapele Local Government Area, with Hon. Austine Ayemidejor and Chief Cyril Ogodo also securing key positions in the campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The appointments are contained in the Delta State APC campaign council list, which outlines the party’s leadership and mobilisation arrangements across the state as it prepares for the next general elections.

Under the Sapele arrangement, Inoaghan will lead the local government campaign team, which is expected to coordinate activities in support of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates seeking elective offices.

Ayemidejor has been named deputy chairman, while Chief Cyril Ogodo will serve as coordinator. Their appointments place the three political figures in strategic positions within the local government campaign structure.

Other officers listed include Francis Okpigben as APC local government chairman, Hon. Bright Abeke Afure as council chairman, and Hon. Perkins Umukoro and Jamani Tommy Ejiro as candidates for the two state constituencies. Chief Dr Enitan Godfrey is named deputy coordinator, while Chief Benson Okorodudu will serve as secretary.

Inoaghan’s emergence brings his experience in local government administration into the campaign structure. He served as chairman of Sapele Local Government Council from 2018 to 2024, having previously worked with the Delta State Government as a Special Assistant. His tenure as council chairman placed him at the centre of local administration and political mobilisation in Sapele.

His new assignment comes as the APC seeks to consolidate its grassroots organisation and coordinate the activities of party leaders, elected representatives and campaign officers ahead of the 2027 polls.

Ayemidejor, a longstanding political figure in Delta State, has held several public-service positions, including service as a commissioner, secretary of Sapele Local Government Council and supervisory councillor. He currently serves as Special Adviser to Governor Oborevwori on Transport and Aviation. His experience in government and party affairs is expected to be relevant to the campaign council’s coordination responsibilities.

Ogodo, who is also listed among the key officers of the Sapele campaign team, will serve as coordinator, working alongside the chairman and deputy chairman to organise the council’s activities. His appointment adds another experienced political hand to the local government structure.

The Sapele appointments form part of a wider campaign framework unveiled by the Delta State APC. At the state level, Governor Oborevwori is listed as chairman of the campaign council, while Senator James Manager will serve as Director-General. The state council also includes prominent political leaders, elected officials and officers responsible for mobilisation, media, security and other campaign functions.

The state campaign council is scheduled for inauguration on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at The Dome Event Centre in Asaba.

With Inoaghan, Ayemidejor and Ogodo occupying key positions in Sapele, the APC has outlined the leadership team expected to coordinate its local campaign activities and support the party’s candidates as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.
