Dafinone Applauds Zamarr Institute’s Autism Advocacy, Calls for Stronger Support for Inclusive Care

The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has commended the contributions of Zamarr Institute in advancing care and awareness for individuals on the autism spectrum, urging increased support to expand inclusive services across the country.

Dafinone gave the commendation during a meeting with a delegation from the institute, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Oluronke Katagum. The visit provided an opportunity to review the organisation’s ongoing initiatives and explore areas of collaboration, particularly in the area of legislative backing for autism-focused programmes.

Discussions at the meeting also highlighted the institute’s forthcoming fundraising dinner, an initiative aimed at boosting access to essential services and sustaining programmes designed for children with special needs. The effort, according to stakeholders, aligns with the institute’s broader mission of bridging gaps in autism care and promoting inclusive support systems across Nigeria.

Speaking during the engagement, Dafinone described the institute as a key player in raising awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder, while also delivering specialized care and creating opportunities for affected individuals to thrive.

“I am deeply impressed by their commitment and the impact of their work,” the senator said, noting that organisations championing vulnerable groups deserve recognition and sustained support.

He further stressed the need for stronger legislative and institutional frameworks to bolster such initiatives, adding that consistent backing would enable organisations like Zamarr Institute to expand their reach and achieve long-term impact.
