Nigeria At 66: Dafinone Urges Nigerians To Stay Strong For A Better Tomorrow

Senator Ede Dafinone has called on Nigerians to remain resilient amid the economic challenges facing the country, expressing optimism that the sacrifices associated with the ongoing reforms of the Federal Government will ultimately contribute to a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made the call in a goodwill message to Nigerians to mark the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
In the statement, the senator felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the people of Delta Central Senatorial District and Nigerians across the country.
He described the anniversary as an opportunity for citizens to reflect on their shared responsibility to preserve the unity of Nigeria while working collectively towards achieving peace, stability and prosperity.
Dafinone acknowledged the hardship being experienced by many Nigerians, noting that the ongoing economic reforms had required significant sacrifices from citizens.
He, however, urged Nigerians not to lose hope, saying that the emerging results of the reforms should strengthen their resolve to persevere as the Federal Government works towards restoring economic stability, expanding opportunities and improving the living conditions of citizens.
The senator drew inspiration from the Bible, quoting the scripture which says, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
He urged Nigerians to remain resilient and continue to pray for President Tinubu as the country navigates what he described as a period of national economic adjustment.
Dafinone also called on the people of Delta Central and Delta State to continue to support and pray for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, stressing the importance of cooperation between the Federal Government and the state government in advancing development across the state.
According to him, stronger cooperation between both levels of government would be essential to attracting investments, promoting development and creating greater opportunities for the people.
The senator maintained that the challenges confronting the country could be overcome through unity, perseverance and collective commitment to national development.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians could build a country where peace prevails and citizens have the opportunity to pursue and achieve their aspirations.
“If we remain united and persevere through this difficult season, a brighter chapter lies ahead,” Dafinone said.
He concluded his Independence Day message by wishing Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and praying for continued blessings upon Delta Central Senatorial District, Delta State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria
