Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation Donates Security Vehicles to Boost Kogi State’s Fight Against Crime

The Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation has significantly bolstered the security infrastructure of Kogi State by donating a fleet of security vehicles to the state government. The intervention is a direct effort to support the state’s ongoing and crucial campaign against rising crime and criminal activities across its 21 local government areas.
The official donation was made by the foundation’s founder, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, during a visit to the Government House in Lokoja. Olusoji used the platform to reaffirm his foundation’s unwavering commitment to complementing government efforts aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and property for all Kogi residents.
Strategic Deployment Plan for 21 Local Government Areas
During the presentation ceremony, Prince Olusoji outlined a comprehensive plan for the deployment of the vehicles. He revealed that the gesture represents the foundation’s strategic intervention to enhance peace and stability, which he described as critical prerequisites for sustainable development.
“I have made arrangements to provide 21 vehicles, one each for the 21 local government areas of the state,” Olusoji disclosed. “Today, I am presenting seven Sienna vehicles to His Excellency for immediate deployment to seven local government areas. The remaining 14 vehicles will follow subsequently.”
The young philanthropist, who has earned wide recognition for his contributions across health, education, and human capital development sectors, explained that the decision to intervene in the security sector was necessitated by the need for collective action against the state’s rising crime challenges.
Pre-Donation Consultations with Security Agencies
Before making the official presentation to the Governor, Prince Olusoji had actively engaged with key security stakeholders across the state. His itinerary included visits to the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters, the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Lokoja, the Kogi State Police Command, and the Kogi State Investment House. These meetings were aimed at discussing collaborative approaches and ensuring the foundation’s intervention aligned perfectly with the operational needs of the security agencies.
Governor Ododo Lauds Timely Initiative
Governor Usman Ododo, who officially received the vehicles, expressed profound gratitude to Prince Olusoji for what he described as a timely and commendable initiative. The Governor assured residents that his administration remains resolute in its commitment to ridding the state of criminal elements, emphasizing that security remains the utmost priority for his government.
“We appreciate this noble gesture from Prince Olusoji. It demonstrates that security is a collective responsibility,” Governor Ododo stated. “My administration will continue to work with well-meaning individuals and organizations to make Kogi a safe haven for all.”
Beyond the security gesture, Olusoji had recently paid a condolence visit to Governor Ododo following the passing of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo, assuring the Governor of continuous support for all initiatives that foster peace and unity.
The Foundation’s Broader Impact
The Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation is noted for its consistent efforts to improve lives, extending far beyond the security sector. Over the years, the foundation has championed:
- Health: Sponsoring medical outreach programs for underserved communities.
- Education: Providing scholarships to indigent students.
- Empowerment: Supporting economic empowerment for youths, women, and men across various sectors.
Security analysts within the state have universally praised the latest intervention as a welcome development, noting that it will significantly enhance mobility and operational efficiency for security agencies in their efforts to combat crime. Residents and stakeholders have also lauded the gesture, recognizing that such private sector and individual support is vital in complementing government efforts, especially given the multi-stakeholder approach required to tackle current security challenges.
