UPU Youth Wing President Endorses Dafinone for Second Term, Urges Urhobo Youths to Support Senator

The President of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Youth Wing, Ughere Blessing, has endorsed Senator Ede Dafinone for a second term in the National Assembly, urging Urhobo youths across Delta Central Senatorial District to rally behind the senator and support his continued representation.
Ughere made his position known in a statement published on his official Facebook handle, titled, *“Why Urhobo Nation Youths Must Endorse and Support Senator Ede Dafinone.”*
He said the endorsement was based on Dafinone’s responsiveness, accessibility and commitment to creating opportunities for young people, particularly through interventions that provide them with skills and platforms for personal and professional development.
Ughere specifically highlighted the senator’s intervention in securing slots for 20 Urhobo youths in the ongoing Niger Delta Community Development Board (NCDMB) Media and Communication Training, describing it as a clear demonstration of responsive and result-oriented representation.
According to him, the opportunity followed a personal appeal he made to Dafinone after learning about the training programme sometime in September last year.
“I reached out to him immediately. Without hesitation, he contacted the Board, and within two days, I was asked to submit 20 names for the training,” Ughere stated.
He added that the intervention had produced tangible results, noting that the 20 youths were currently participating in the training and making progress.
“Today, I am proud to say that 20 Urhobo youths are currently participating in the ongoing NCDMB Communication Training, and all of them are doing well,” he said.
The UPU Youth Wing president maintained that the NCDMB training was only one of several opportunities facilitated by Dafinone for Urhobo youths.
He commended the senator for what he described as his willingness to respond to the needs of the people irrespective of partisan considerations, stressing that effective political representation should be measured by its impact on the lives of constituents.
“Beyond words, Senator Ede Dafinone has consistently shown that he is a leader who listens and acts. Whenever the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide calls on him, he has always been available to support the interests of our people,” Ughere said.
He also commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, alongside Senator Dafinone, for what he described as their responsiveness to the aspirations and needs of the Urhobo people.
Ughere argued that political support should be anchored on measurable achievements, accessibility and the ability of elected representatives to convert their positions into tangible opportunities for the people they represent.
“Our appreciation must go beyond words. We must recognize and support leaders committed to the empowerment of our people,” he stated.
The UPU Youth Wing leader consequently called on Urhobo youths to support Dafinone’s bid for a second term, saying continuity would provide the senator with the opportunity to consolidate on programmes and initiatives already commenced.
“For this reason, Urhobo youths must rally around Senator Ede Dafinone and support him to complete all that he has started,” he declared.
Ughere described the 20 beneficiaries of the NCDMB training as more than recipients of a single intervention, stressing that the opportunity represented an investment in their skills, confidence and future.
“The opportunity you gave these 20 youths is an investment in their skills, confidence, and future. May God continue to strengthen you,” he said.
Concluding his statement, Ughere reaffirmed his personal support for Dafinone’s second-term ambition, describing the senator as a responsive representative who has demonstrated willingness to listen to the concerns of his people and act on them.
“Therefore, I endorse him and I support him for a second term,” he declared.
He thereafter expressed his appreciation to the senator, saying: “Migwor, Senator Ede Dafinone! Migwor, the listening Senator!”
