Dafinone Congratulates Oborevwori on CAN’s Christian Icon Award

The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his recognition with the Christian Icon Award by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), describing the honour as a testament to his leadership and commitment to public service.
Dafinone, in a congratulatory message, said the award presented to Oborevwori during CAN’s 50th anniversary celebration at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, was a source of pride to Delta State and the Urhobo people.
The senator noted that the recognition by the umbrella body of Christians in Nigeria reflected the governor’s humility, dedication to governance and commitment to values associated with the Christian faith, including integrity, compassion and service to humanity.
He said Oborevwori’s recognition at the national level was encouraging, adding that the governor’s approach to leadership had continued to attract attention beyond Delta State.
According to Dafinone, the governor’s emphasis on peaceful coexistence, inclusive governance and the collective aspirations of the people reflects the principles expected of leaders entrusted with the responsibility of managing public affairs.
The senator expressed delight that the honour had come at a time when the importance of responsible leadership, unity and service to humanity remained central to the development of the state and the country.
He also expressed confidence that the recognition would encourage Oborevwori to sustain the programmes and policies of his administration under the MORE Agenda, which focuses on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security.
Dafinone said the award should serve as additional encouragement for the governor to deepen unity among Deltans and continue pursuing initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.
He added that public recognition of this nature also carried the responsibility of maintaining high standards of leadership and remaining committed to the service of God and humanity.
The senator, who represents Delta Central in the National Assembly, extended his congratulations to the governor on behalf of his family and the people of the senatorial district.
He prayed that God would continue to grant Oborevwori wisdom, good health, strength and the grace to lead Delta State towards greater peace, prosperity and development.
The Christian Icon Award adds to the recognition accorded to the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of Delta State, with his administration’s performance and commitment to the welfare of residents remaining important considerations in assessing its impact.
Dafinone concluded by describing the honour as well deserved and wishing the governor continued success in the discharge of his responsibilities to the people of Delta State.
